We had the Stringspace trio perform at our wedding and they were absolutely fantastic. Music was the last thing we had to book and we just couldn’t find the right people for us. Then we came across Stringspace and it was just perfect; a mix of classical, jazz, and contemporary variations for our ceremony and cocktail hour gave our wedding such a fantastic atmosphere. Our guests loved hearing contemporary songs on strings, and said it filled our venue at Mali Brae Farm in the Southern Highlands with a great energy (captured here by photographer Thomas Stewart). Communication and planning was so easy. Stringspace gave us a run sheet to fill in and provided a list of songs to choose from. It was as easy as that! They turned up on the day and were incredible. Crestone event music at the NGV, Melbourne – String Quartet

Hi Lucie,

I wanted to touch base with you that last night’s event at the NGV in Melbourne went very well & musicians were fantastic.

They were great as playing outside for the first 30 minutes in the outdoor was a bit challenging, given the weather being typical unpredictable Melbourne weather. But they were fantastic & great choice of music 😊

That event is done, now focussing on Sydney on Tuesday.

Sydney string quartet event feedback

I work in the Department of Premier and Cabinet, NSW, International Branch. By chance, one of my more senior colleagues and I represented the NSW government at a Taiwanese bank launch today. Much to my surprise and delight, I saw and heard Ollie playing as one of the members of the string quartet for that function. It was a lovely performance and the audience really loved the Taiwanese pieces too. These days I speak Chinese, and heard some very delighted and appreciative feedback in both English and Chinese, including from the visiting senior Taiwanese bankers who are only out here for a few days. Stringspace Orchestra Outdoor Concert at Claremont, Perth

Dear Stringspace Orchestra, I went to the concert in Claremont last night. We took our 9 year old boy as he’s learning cello. The concert was fantastic, we loved every minute of it and Lilly Dior has a fabulous voice, I wonder if you would be interested in performing at Cockburn Central Town Spare? This is a small park near Cockburn Central train station. It was designed by Urbis and it’s a very urban setting. Residents are beginning to move to the apartments that surround the town square. Dear Lucie and Phoebe,

Thank You! We are just now coming back down to earth after a fabulous weekend, culminating in the evening at Grossi Florentino, which we had jokingly taken to calling “the Gala” during the lead-up weeks. Yes, Phoebe, you are right but too modest, as we feel everything went better than “really well”. Your performance and Lucie’s expert arrangements lifted the evening to “really wonderful”!

Phoebe, it was a pleasure to meet you, and your playing was gorgeous. The classical and contemporary pieces set the romantic tone we hoped to create in that lovely setting. Rod and I chuckled again over the “Remember Me” piece because the score itself was so unremarkable and yet between Lucie’s rearrangement and your playing, it took on a whimsical sophistication that sounded charming, and ‘We Are Gentlemen of Japan’ just blew us all away!

We knew from our previous experience with Stringspace that we were in for another great experience, and so it was! Now we are just thinking how fortunate we were to have our special event before the lockdown and wish you all well there.

We look forward to the next chance we get to engage Stringspace. Meantime we’re busy singing your praises to anyone asking about Our Weekend!

Stringspace at the Dobroyd Sailing Club on Sydney Harbour I cannot express my appreciation enough for the way the Stringspace quartet enlivened and enriched our 70th birthday party for David on Friday. They played of course in the usual clatter of a party, but their high musicianship shone through as though they were playing to a concert audience. They were full of brio and soul and energy, and the party guests responded with huge appreciation. We simply couldn’t have some of Australia’s finest young musicians in the background all night, so we featured the quartet at the beginning, middle and end of the night as items of the night’s program - and the guests loved it. The quartet played us out joyously with some lively Handel so the party ended on a high. Our deepest appreciation to Peter, Anna, Kristian, and Paul for their contribution to our party. PS The arrangements for string quartet of both classical and popular music were superb.

String Quartet wedding music – September, 2024

Hey Lucie, I just wanted to take the time to send you an email following our wedding on the 21st. The musicians were amazing and made our ceremony so much cooler! Having them playing as guests entered was a highlight, and the guests commented afterwards how beautifully they played. I also wanted to thank them for learning the Halo theme song. Mat, and his two groomsmen, loved the surprise and there were a few guests who picked up on the song too. When Hoppipolla started playing, I instantly burst into tears. The sound was fantastic and everything I dreamed of walking down the aisle to. The four musicians were also flexible, and worked with our celebrant to nail the timings during the ceremony. I wanted something above and beyond for our wedding ceremony. Much of my family are musicians and finding something that fits 'above and beyond' is a monumental undertaking. After listening to some of the material on their website and Youtube, I was impressed with Stringspace. When I arrived at the ceremony the musicians for Stringspace were already setup and performing. To say I was impressed with their material on the website does not do them justice. Live they were indeed Above and Beyond.
