“Why isn’t jazz crawling with more cellos? Here, its endless possibilities for soloing or accompanying and opulence or edginess are exploited superbly by Sydney cellist Ollie Miller… [Amphibious’ aLive & Breathing] contains elements of jazz, rock, classical and folk. Still, the results sound organic and integrated rather than cherry-picked. The mood is often pastoral and playing sensitive and affecting.” SMH John Shand

Briana graduated from the Australian Institute of Music (BMUS) and travelled to New York to record her original compositions ‘When Fiction Comes to Life’. Briana also jumped back on a plane to the big apple to record her pop-inspired second album ‘Paper Mache City’. Her album “When Fiction Comes to Life” was recently nominated for ‘Best Vocal Jazz Album’ in the Australian Jazz Bell Awards.
Briana’s inspiration ranges from The Beatles, Joni Mitchell, Fiona Apple to Bach. Her unique creativity and outstanding ability as a performer, improviser, and composer recognised through her ongoing career achievements.
Invited to perform with her band at the Wangaratta Jazz Festival supporting Katie Noonan. Briana was again invited back to the Wangaratta Jazz Festival to compete as 1 of 10 finalists in the National Jazz Awards for Voice.

“Gladys could have saved us all a fortune by having Jade MacRae demolish the Sydney Football Stadium. One note should have done the job; such is the singer’s staggering power. Were anything left tottering, Carl Dewhurst could have napalmed it with a guitar solo. MacRae doesn’t do things by halves. Having penned a batch of songs buried deep in the R&B tradition.”
