Stringspace was established in 2003 by musician Lucie Miller. Her interest and mission is to provide extremely high quality & vibrant musicians for events.

Lucie is from a family of third-generation professional musicians and artists. She has worked at the Sydney Theatre Company, and performed regularly with the Australian Opera & Ballet Orchestra.

Lucie has arranged & performed on most of the string quartet pop songs that you can hear on the Stringspace website. She has 2 violin performance degrees – including a Bachelor of Music (ANU distinction), and Graduate Diploma from the Sydney Conservatorium (scholarship). During her music degrees, she also attended the Canberra School of Art & the Sydney College of the Arts – majoring in painting. Internationally Lucie has performed with the Cologne New Philharmonic Orchestra in over 100 concerts throughout France and Germany.

Lucie directs, edits and produces all the music film clips at StringspaceLive.

As director of Stringspace, Lucie regularly organises live music for the Department of the Prime Minister & Cabinet, the Art Gallery of NSW, and the National Gallery of Australia. She has also organised music for Alannah Hill (at her Chapel Street Store), The National Portrait Gallery, Global Television (Sydney & Melbourne), The Sydney Theatre Company, The National Gallery of Victoria, Sydney Opera House, Sotheby’s, Sydney Writers’ Festival, Melbourne Fashion Week, Sydney Fashion Week, Sydney Dance Company, ACMI – Australian Centre for the Moving Image, State Library of Victoria, State Library of NSW, Victorian State Government,  Australian Guild of Screen Composers, the Australian Performing Rights Association, The Law Council of Australia, Vivid Festival, Australian Film Director Peter Weir, The ABC Q & A Show, & Hopscotch Film Director Troy Lum.

Stringspace has provided a string quartet for U2 at a World Aids Day event at the Sydney Opera House, and have performed in front of many of the world’s current Presidents and Prime Ministers including events for Chinese President Hu Jintao, Russian President Vladimir Putin, French President Francoise Hollande, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu & The Prime Minister of Japan Shinzo Abe. We have performed for The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge Prince William and Kate Middleton at an event hosted by the Prime Minister at Parliament House, The Prime Minister of Australia’s Australia Day parties at The Lodge and also at the Prime Minister’s Christmas Party at Kirribilli House.

Since 2003, Stringspace has provided high-quality string and jazz musicians for weddings, corporate events, parties, concerts, and recording sessions for CD, TV, and film throughout Australia.

Stringspace is an agency made up of a collective of friends who all work together for the common goal of providing extremely high-quality live music.

Stringspace has provided numerous jazz bands for Tiffany & Co. – in Sydney, Melbourne & Adelaide, and a jazz band in-store for Louis Vuitton. We have organised a solo violinist to perform throughout Australia for M.A.C Cosmetics – including an event for M.A.C at Vogue Fashion Night Out, and a string quartet for the Harpers Bazaar Woman of the Year Awards. We have also booked string players to perform on episodes of the TV show Home & Away.

Our versatile string musicians have been touted as being some of the finest in the world.

Stringspace’s extensive string quartet repertoire includes stylish classical, jazz and an extremely popular selection of pop tunes.

Our YouTube Channel StringspaceLive receives over 30,000 views a day and 7 million views a year, and 2000+ new subscribers each month. Our string quartet video of Pachelbel Canon is the most viewed classical string quartet video in the world.

Stringspace musicians are talented, experienced, creative, and professional, and all share an artistic approach to performing. They include graduates of the Sydney Conservatorium of Music, the National Academy of Music, Adelaide Elder Conservatorium, Queensland Conservatorium of Music, Tasmanian Conservatorium, Victorian College of the Arts, the University of Western Australia & The Australian National University.
